Maternity Session By The Lake + Mountains
Pierre Chiha Photographers - Maternity Photographer - Concord, MA | Kittery, ME | Nice, France

This maternity session took place in the fall by a beautiful lake in the mountains.
Like all of our maternity sessions, it's about having an incredible experience.
We created one of a kind portraits for Mei and Michael. They had such a special time together out in nature, among the mountains and the lake.

The portraits we created for the couple are works of art that they can now hang on their walls at home.
I'm Gaby, one of the portrait artists at Pierre Chiha Photographers. Pierre is my dad and we work together as a father daughter portrait team.
I'm going to share with you the details behind this maternity photoshoot.
For this particular maternity session, we decided on two locations. It's important to take into account the transportation time to your location, and also in between locations if you're going to more than one place.
It would be terrible to mess up the timing and miss out on a gorgeous sunset or finish your photoshoot in the dark.

Before every maternity session, our photo studio will have a planning session with the couple.
This can be done over the phone, on zoom, or even just on email. The most important part is that you should feel like you can really depend on your photographer to help guide you in all the right directions.
Before your maternity session, we'll give you personalized location ideas based on what you like and don't like.
Our photo studio will also give you our personal tips on what to wear, when to schedule during your pregnancy, timing during the day, and more.
The beautiful nature during fall foliage was such a perfect location to create artistic maternity portraits.

Maternity portraits are incredibly special and unique for a few reasons.
For one, a pregnancy is temporary in life. After the baby is born, the pregnancy journey is over. You can't go back cherish it or capture it. Your maternity portraits will capture this fleeting journey while you're still on it.
Although you're pregnant for 9 months, maybe only 3 of those months your belly is truly round. There is not a lot of time to create these kind of special portraits.
You're growing a human being. I mean, what a truly magical process, right?
Your pregnancy journey is certainly not easy, but you deserve to be celebrated. Your body deserves to be celebrated. You and your partner, and the love you share together to create a family deserve to be celebrated.

Here are some of the most popular types of locations for maternity photos -
- Beach or ocean
- In the studio
- Nature park or garden
- Lake
- Mountains
- At your home
Our photography studio has curated a list of the best photoshoot locations for every type of location. This involves doing online research and real-life scouting to find the best of the best.

Your maternity photos should feel authentic and artistic.
We hate cliche poses and portraits that look stiff and awkward.
During the maternity session I guided Mei and Michael into poses that look natural. When our couples show up for their portrait session, they don't have to worry about what to do or how to pose.
These maternity portraits capture the beautiful outdoors and the couple also feels so natural within the environment.
One of our special tricks that we use during our maternity photoshoots are prompts. We have an unlimited list of fun prompts to give our couples and women so that we can capture authentic emotions and moving imagery.

Partway through the photoshoot at the first location, Mei and Michael changed their outfits. Changing outfits is a great way to get variety in your portraits. Sometimes you won't know which outfit you'll love most until you see after you see your portraits.
When we got to the second location, the couple changed outfits one more time. It's great to take advantage of changing up styles or trying on different looks.
In the end, Mei and Michael were ecstatic with their portraits.
In the end, their maternity photos are timeless and have become an heirloom for their home.
