1. THE NORTH BRIDGE – CONCORD, MA

Location: 174 Liberty St, Concord, MA

Parking: 2 public parking lots at each end of the park

Entrance fee: None

Description: The North Bridge park is one of our favorite senior portrait locations. This park is really big and has so much variety in beautiful nature. One of the main attractions is the iconic bridge that goes over the Concord river. It’s very scenic here. There are endless opportunities to walk around and find different corners to create amazing portraits. This location is beautiful year round as well; each season shows different vibes.

2. GREAT BROOK FARM – CARLISLE, MA

Location: 165 North Rd, Carlisle, MA

Parking: Parking lot at the farm

Entrance fee: Paid entry between April 1 – Nov 30. $3 / vehicle.

Description: Even though this is a farm, this is a great senior portrait location because there are so many beautiful spots on the property that don’t look like a farm at all. You have the option to choose if you want portraits that have more of a rustic vibe or if you want to just have regular nature backgrounds. There is also a pond on the property.

3. SPECIAL DESTINATION

On your boat. This session was in Kittery, ME.

Locations: There are so many great choices for a senior portrait destination session. Choosing a special location can really transform a basic photoshoot into a memorable experience.

Parking: The public locations all have parking options either on the street or we recommend the parking garage when we go to Boston. We know the right spots to park that are within walking distance to the photoshoot spots.

Entrance fee: None – just parking fees.

Description: We love going to any destination YOU love. These seniors picked special destinations that had meaning to them. Families really value looking at their portraits when there is a special story with the location they picked. We encourage every family to choose a location intentionally for your senior portraits.

4. THE DECORDOVA MUSEUM – LINCOLN, MA

Location: 51 Sandy Pond Rd, Lincoln, MA

Parking: Parking lot at the museum

Entrance fee: $14 / adult, free for residents of Lincoln and other exemption for certain park pass holders. Check The Trustees website for more info.

Description: Typically you wouldn’t think of going to a museum for a senior portrait session. However, the deCordova Museum is an amazing exception. This museum has a huge outdoor grounds with lots of larger than life art sculptures and exhibits, which is what makes this a great senior portrait location. What really seals the deal for us is that the outdoor grounds also has a lot of beautiful nature, it’s not just about art pieces.

5. THE BEACH – MA, NH, & ME

Parking: Parking lots available

Entrance fee: Depends on the beach and the time of day. Most beaches after hours have free entrance and parking. Otherwise, expect to pay a parking fee.

Description: The beach will always be a timeless senior portrait location. Traditionally you go to the beach in the summertime for portraits, but surprisingly it is a great photoshoot location year round. Layer up and get a cozy, sandy look. Plus, off season you will have the beach to yourself!

6. ACTON ARBORETUM – ACTON, MA

Location: 2 Taylor Rd, Acton, MA 01720

Parking: Free parking lot on site

Entrance fee: Free

Description: The Acton arboretum is a hidden gem. The grounds are massive with so many walking trails to explore the beautiful nature. When it comes to senior portrait locations, the Acton arboretum checks every box. There are so many different types of nature elements here, along with footbridges, benches, and more. Every season offers something special here.

7. CONCORD, MA DOWNTOWN CENTER

Location: Concord, MA center

Parking: Free parking at the Umbrella Art Center, where our photography studio is located.

Description: You would probably never guess these portraits were taken in downtown Concord center. Chiha Portraits has known Concord since the 1990’s. We know all the best areas to go for amazing portraits – all within walking distance. Come with us and we’ll show you our favorite spots.

8. YOUR OWN BACKYARD

Location: Your home of course.

Description: A senior portrait session at your home is great, if you have the right environment for it. We only recommend a senior portrait session at your home if you have a very nice and spacious yard.

Your home can be a great location for senior portraits because of the personal meaning. There will be a lot of nostalgia when you look back at these portraits.

Gaby and her husband own a home in the south of France in Nice. Pierre and Gaby have lots of family in Paris and other places around France. Because of their french heritage they spend a lot of time in France.

These young ladies decided to take advantage of a fun group photoshoot together while traveling abroad. They each got individual portraits in addition to photos as a group. This is a memory they’ll have forever.
